Gregory Lee Allen, 59, of Colona, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at his home after a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Gilda's Club. Gregory was born May 8, 1954, in Chicago, the son of Donald and Barbara Brown Battin. He served in the Marines during Vietnam. He married Renee Jasiota (Gartner) on July 29, 1990. Gregory worked several jobs. He was a district manager for Home Craft in Minnesota. He also was a construction worker, a nurse's aid, a cab driver and a school bus driver for Johannes in Rock Island. He also worked at Oscar Meyer in Davenport. Gregory was in school to become an LPN, but due to health problems could not complete the courses. Gregory was a kid at heart and enjoyed playing video games, bingo, going to the casino and traveling. He loved spending time with family and making people laugh. Survivors include his wife, Renee; sons, Nicholas (Rosa Rocha) Jasiota, Moline and Zachary (Kaitlyn Johanson) Jasiota; grandchildren, Desiree and Madden Jasiota, Ari, Sophia, David, Thais and Gia; siblings, Jody Williamson, Carol Taylor, Brenda Voss, Wendy Houff, two sisters and five brothers; brother-in-law, Ralph (Cindy) French. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Christopher and David Battin; and in-laws, Marty and Kay Gartner.
