Harley W. Cox, 74, of East Moline, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church, Moline. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born June 28, 1937, in Ava, Mo., to Orval Ray and Edna Ludwig Cox. He married Kathleen Morris on May 21, 1991, in Rock Island.
Harley worked as a set-up man at Strombeck's Manufacturing in Moline and also was a television repairman. He also was a custodian at First Congregational Church in Moline and was well loved by all the children of the Red Wagon Day Care.
He enjoyed country music, gospel music, watching sports and going to the horse races.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; children, Shela (Fritz) Genz, Silvis, Diana Alisauskis, Chicago, Stephanie Smetana, Silvis, and Dennis (Kathy) Cox, Chicago; stepchildren, Steven (Rene) Morris, East Moline, Laurie (Dave) Blackman, East Moline, Kelly Morris, Chicago, and Heather (Charles) Martin, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; brother, Calvin Rowe, Ava; mother of his children, Vivian Steinhaus. He was preceded in death by his parents.
