Harvey A. Erikson

Harvey Allen Erikson of Moline, Illinois, passed away at the age of 93 in Bettendorf Iowa on May 11, 2023. Harvey was born the only child to Harry and Madge (Spratt) Erikson on January 7, 1930, in Moline, Illinois.

He graduated from Moline High School in 1948. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.

He graduated from Illinois State University and later received his Master's degree.

On June 12th, 1959 he married Jacqueline (Jackie) Nelson. He taught in various school districts in Michigan and Illinois until he and Jackie settled in Moline in 1965. He taught in the Moline/Coal Valley School District for 30 years. The majority of those were spent at Garfield Elementary School where he retired in 1993.

He is survived by his children: Carlene (Bill Willet) Erikson of DeWitt, Iowa; Trista (Chris) Rada of Milan, Illinois; Zachary Erikson of Moline. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Teagan Erikson of Des Moines, Iowa and Jace Erikson of Westville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and in July of 2020 his wife Jackie. A joint Celebration of Life service will be held for both Harvey and Jackie at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Davenport Iowa on Saturday June 10th at 2:00pm.
