Helen L. "Tootie" Bartz, 72, of Colona, died March 29, 2012, at Good Samaritan Home, Geneseo.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona, with visitation two hours before the service at the funeral home. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home, Geneseo.
She was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Stahl, Mo., daughter of Robert and Elveta Neely Dolan. She married Donald R. Bartz on Aug. 27, 1960, in East Moline. He passed away in September of 2006.
Tootie worked many years with Don at Q.C.H.; she also drove semis cross country and worked construction with Don before Q.C.H. When Don retired, she started HLB Trucking, retiring in 2007.
She enjoyed reading and watching western and romance movies and books. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR and her grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include her children, Terri (Dan) Buck, Burlington, Denny (Tammy) Bartz, Colona, and Doug (Rhonda) Bartz, Silvis; grandchildren, Brandon (Jen) Bartz, Trista (Danny) Smith, Scott Tinkham, Adrienne (Gary) Jackson, Mike Buck, Kayla Bartz, and Dustin Bartz; great-grandchildren, Izabella Rae Bartz, Paisley Jean Smith, Kason and Dylan Easterling, and Isaih and Alonzo Ochoa; two stepsons, Dan Hanson and David Hanson; stepgrandchildren, Tara Ochoa, Kacee Easterling, Amber Hanson and Jake Buck; sister, Almeta Hagerman, Colona; brother, Ervan (Naomi) Dolan, Green Castle, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and a brother, Hubert Dolan.
