Helen L. Carter

Helen L. Carter, 85, of Silvis passed away August 16, 2022 at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo.

Funeral services will be 10am Thursday, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Helen was born July 11, 1937 in Rock Island, IL the daughter of William and Catherine (Lovett) Young. She married Dean Carter February 5, 1956 in East Moline. He passed away January 9, 2017. Helen retired from the former Bank of Silvis as Assistant Vice President of the Trust Department. She enjoyed gardening and was the secretary of the Silvis Garden Club for several years. She also enjoyed traveling, going to church, bible study, and coffee with the girls on Tuesday Mornings.

Survivors include her children Linda Carter of Silvis and Steve Carter; grandchildren Steven Carter of Geneseo and Brandon Berhenke of East Moline; sister Barb Fackler and a close cousin LouAnn DeRammeleare.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 brother.
