Herlinda Correa, aged 83, died peacefully on January 16, 2015 at the Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Herlinda was born December 13, 1931, in Coolidge, Texas, the daughter of Mariono Dominquez and Maria del Rosario Rodriquez. While the first part of her long life was growing up in Texas, she met Juan Correa and they were married on October 16, 1957 in Edinburg, Texas. He passed away Dec. 1, 2004. They soon relocated to the Quad Cities and raised their family with nine children. Herlinda was a stay at home mother all her life who loved visits from her children and many grandchildren. During her life she enjoyed crafts and cooking. Survivors (and spouses) include daughters, Sylvia (Gary) Watson, Doniphan, Mo., Nora (Philip) Shappard, Winfield, Ill., Maria (Richard) Lohse, Silvis, Rosa Correa, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Sofia Saucedo, Colona; sons, Jorge (Maria) Rodriguez, Moline, Edward (Trisha) Rodriguez, East Moline, Juan Jr. (Pat) Correa, Milan, and Victor (Dana) Correa, Sharon, Wis.; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Sofia Sanchez, San Antonio, TX and Maria Elena Anchondo of San Benito, TX. Herlinda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-seven years, Juan, brothers Baldemar, Ruben and Noe and a sister Teresa.
