Inez Leihsing

Inez Marie Leihsing, 86, of Colona, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at her home in Colona Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona Per her wishes Inez will be cremated. Burial will be 2 pm Wednesday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend should meet at Schroder Mortuary in Colona at 1:15 p.m. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. Memorials: Red Cloud Indian School in South Dakota She was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Pitcher, Okla., to Leonard and Velma Hicks Leihsing. She married Thomas E. Leihsing April 12, 1947, in Phoenix, Ariz. He passed away June 31, 1984. She and her husband owned and operated Tom Maries flower and Garden Shop in Colona. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she was active in St. Anne's Circle and the Rosary Society Circle. She was also ordained Franciscan. Inez was a member of the Black Hawk Hiking Club. She loved gardening and was a master gardener. Survivors include her children, Denise Rudolph, Colona, Tania (Poul) Larsen, Longmont, Colo., Jarod Leihsing, Milan, Pamela Boone, East Moline, Janet (Don) McCarver, Dixon, Kevin Leihsing, Silvis, Bonnie Reynolds, Colona, Phebe (Doug) Wiatt, Colona and Mark Leihsing, Moline; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Judd, Cave Creek, Ariz. She preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Joel; a grandchild; a sister; and a brother.
