Irvin Stanley Sherrod, 54, of Rock Island, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at his home.
Memorial services are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at "The Word" Church, 1925 5th Ave., Rock Island (on the corner of 20th Street and 5th Avenue). Inurnment is in Louisville, Miss. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born March 3, 1957, in Louisville, to Ellis and Earlean Glenn Sherrod.
He worked at John Deere Davenport Works as a welder for 32 years.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling back home to Mississippi and riding his bike. He loved being at Sunset Park in Rock Island.
Survivors include his daughters, Spc. Syreeta-Sherrod, Baumholder, Germany, Bibian Hickman, East Moline; son, Thilippe Sherrod, East Moline; granddaughter, Nyasia Deemer, East Moline; sister, Marilyn (Harold) Roberson, Louisville; brothers, Melvin Sherrod, Gautier, Miss., Kenneth (Glen) Sherrod, Gautier; good friends, Nate Sherrod, Rock Island, Garvey Glenn, East Moline, Gene Richardson, Rock Island, David Quinn, Rock Island, and Cecil Bates, Rock Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lavelle Sherrod.
