Jack Liggett, 75, of Silvis, passed away on July 14, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Services will be noon Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors. Jack was born on June 29, 1938, in Carbon Cliff, the son of Denver and Martha Faye Patrick Liggett. He married Ann Marr on May 21, 1960, in East Moline. Jack retired from John Deere Harvester after 30 years. He loved to golf and was a member of Valley View Golf Club in Cambridge. Jack was an avid sports fan. He played on several softball leagues and later coached for the Silvis Little League boys and girls. He also was coach of the Silvis Roadrunners ASA team which was the only Silvis team to win a state tournament. Survivors include his wife, Ann; children, Mike (Tara) Liggett, Colona, Joyce (Eric) Walker, Silvis, and Jill (Randy) Tharp, Milan; grandchildren, Erica (Nick) Burnett, Donald Liggett, Jessica (Austin) Kruger, Ashley Liggett, Samantha Liggett, Jacki Tharp, Chelsea Liggett, Jenna Walker, Heather Tharp and Erin Walker; and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Landen Burnett, Kamryn and Karson Kruger, Cruz Connor and Kylie Tharp. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark; two sisters; and two brothers.
