Jack Smith

Jack Smith, 69, of Colona passed away March 29, 2022 at Unity Point Rock Island.

Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Burial will be at a later date in Preemption Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jack was born May 30, 1952 in Cordova, IL the son of Arthur and Dorothy Smith. He married Mary Hayton August 8, 1972 in Clinton, IA. Jack retired from McKay Plating after 48 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed gardening and his cats.

Survivors include his wife Mary; children Jackie Gutknecht and Nathan (Rita Newton) Smith; grandchildren Katherine, Alexis, Hope, Faith, Tara, Kayla, Daniel, and Nicholas; great grandchildren Dominic, Matthew, and Dawson and a brother John Smith.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons Nathan Jr. and Nathan III.
