James Christiansen

James T. Christiansen, Jr., 74, of Colona passed away June 10, 2022 at his home.

Burial will be private at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Schroder Mortuary, Colona is assisting the family with arrangements.

James was born September 24, 1947 in Rock Island, IL the son of James T. and Grace E. (Shaw) Christiansen. He attended United Township High School and started a family in Bishop Hill, Illinois.  He spent the majority of his career at John Deere where he enjoyed the opportunity to work in a variety of departments. He retired from John Deere Harvester after 30 years.  James took great pride in problem solving and was pleased when his suggestions became best practices at work.  He believed his greatest responsibility as a father was to teach that same confidence and critical thinking to his children.
Survivors include his children Craig (Cristy) Christiansen of Geneseo, Amy (Terry) Blochberger of Buffalo, NY, and Scott (Jennifer) Christiansen of Chicago; grandchildren Jason (Emilie) Christiansen, Nicki Christiansen, Anna Blochberger, Molly Blochberger, Luke Blochberger, Emmet Christiansen, Rollin Christiansen, and Calvin Christiansen; great granddaughter Isabelle Christiansen and a sister Nancy (Butch) Baughman of Galesburg.

James was preceded in death by his parents.
