James D. Dopler, 64, of Chatsworth, Ill., formerly of East Moline, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac, Ill. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Cremation rites will follow. Memorials may be made to Bowlesburg Elementary. James was born Dec. 26, 1950, in Moline, the son of Joseph C. and Mary L. Coulter Dopler. He married Kathy Dopler on July 15, 1978, in East Moline. James retired from Caterpillar as a machinist. He loved to fish, play cards, read, watch old movies, play with his granddaughters, travel, spend time with his family, cook out and listen to old country music. Survivors include his mother, Mary Lou Dopler, Hampton; wife, Kathy; sons, Adam Dopler, Chatsworth, and Jim (Bridget) Dopler, Pontiac; grandchildren, Tatum and Dallas Dopler, Pontiac; sister, Connie Dopler-Spinks and Bonnie Dopler-Woodhurst, both of Hampton; and a brother, Robert (Mary) Dopler, Silvis. James was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C., and his brother, Joseph M. Dopler.
