James A. Durling

James A. “Jim” Durling, 65, of East Moline passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospital.

A graveside service will be 10am Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting with arrangements.

Jim was born October 25, 1957 in Moline, IL the son of Jack F. Jr. and Erma T. Heyvaert Durling. He worked all his life as a maintenance mechanic in the Quad City area with the most recent being Arconic (ALCOA). James’s philosophy was “work hard, play harder”.

Survivors include his brother David (Sharon) Durling of Erie; stepbrother John Fakas; stepsister Deb Fakas and a cousin Diana Redman.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Jack, mother Erma Fakas, and his aunt Mary Redman.
