Jeanette Bergstrand

Jeanette Mary Bergstrand, formerly of Moline, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, Wis. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Schroder Mortuary, 701 1st Ave., Silvis. Memorial contributions may be made to Youth Hope, A Ministry of Christian Friendliness, 3928 12th Ave., Moline. She was born on April 15, 1917, in Carbon Cliff, to Daniel and Minnie Gainey Jones. She graduated from Moline High School. On July 12, 1941, she married Kenneth Bergstrand in Moline. Jeanette worked as a secretary at Strombeck-Becker Manufacturing from 1934 to 1944 and as a credit manager for Carson Pirie Scott and Company from 1964 to 1974. She retired as office manager of Mary Moore Church Linens, of Davenport, in 1989, after working there since 1974. She is survived by her three sons, David (Joy) Bergstrand, Menomonie, Donald, Fort Collins, Colo., and Chuck, Fort Collins. She has seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth.
