Jerry S. Wilson

Jerry S. Wilson, 66, of Silvis passed away September 10, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport surrounded by family.

A memorial visitation will be on Friday, September 16th from 4-7pm at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be private at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Jerry was born August 28, 1956 in Rock Island, IL the son of Gil and Marvel. He married Crystal Slover February 19, 1977 in Moline, IL. Jerry worked as a general contractor for over 40 years, then after retirement as the Building Trades Instructor for UTHS. Teaching was his true calling. He was a gifted teacher and a mentor to so many. From teaching children math using a deck of cards, to taking the new employee under his wing on a job, he truly enjoyed sharing his knowledge. Countless people are in business today because of his guidance.

Jerry enjoyed playing cards, golf, softball, and sports in general. Competition was so strong in him. He loved taking everyone to the movies or playing countdown with his loved one's.

Survivors include his mother Marvel Kelly; stepmother Marge Wilson; wife Crystal; children Benjamin (Jennifer) Wilson, Amanda (Craig) Randerson, and Abraham (Sarah Biehn) Wilson; grandchildren Cody Wilson, Autumn (Eryke) Dekezel, Isabella Randerson, Cassidy Randerson, Grant Wilson, Paige Wilson, and Hanna Wilson as well as siblings Bob Wilson, Joan Seidlitz, Bev Kelley, Tom Wilson, Gib (Pearl) Wilson, Deb (Burt) Serres, and Matthew (Noreen) Kelly.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Gil Wilson and uncles Stan, Gary and Ron O’Brien.
