Jessie Svetlick

Jessie “Mike” Svetlick, 72, of Silvis passed away July 19, 2019 at his home due to complications of COPD

Per his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.

Mike was born October 14, 1946 in Cinderella, WV the son of Steve and Geneva Phillips Svetlick. He married Nancy Steele July 9, 1976 in Moline. Mike was a C&C operator, a skilled carpenter. He worked at Gardner Engineering in Davenport and was a Forman at Red Jacket in Davenport and Caterpillar in Eldridge. He enjoyed building furniture and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and always had a story to tell them. If there is a chocolate factory in heaven, Mike is testing all the treats.

Survivors include his wife Nancy; children Shannon Vickers, Rebecca (Brenda) Svetlick, Christopher (Tracy) Svetlick, and Michael (Hollie) Svetlick; grandchildren Kaitlynn (Andy) Lawler, Paige Lofquist, Cody Svetlick, Alexis Svetlick, and Brendon Felgenaur; great granddaughter Olivia Lawler; sisters Cathy (Bobby) Fergusen and Sueann (Jerry) Walters; special friend Ryan Stroyan, whom Jessie treated as a grandson. Let us not forget his fur babies Coco, Cooper, and Harley. They will most definitely wonder where he went.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Jessica Lea, and brothers Joe, Ronnie, Rudy, and Timothy.

The family would like to give special thanks to family and friends, Genesis Hospice, Casey and Peggy for constant concern and assistance, and Dr. Wardlow.
