Jimmy Donald

Jimmy Dale Donald, 70, of Moline passed away January 25, 2022 at the Iowa City VA Hospital.

Services will be private, and burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to any veteran organization to include Vietnam Veterans local chapters, the USO, Wounded Warriors or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Jimmy was born June 21, 1951 in Quitman, MS the son of William and Annie (Downs) Donald.  He married Debra Dale September 2, 1987 in Charleston, SC.  They had been married for 35 years.  He served in the Army from July 9, 1976 to June 30, 1993 during the Vietnam Era retiring as a 1SG at Fort Drum, New York.    He later retired as a Correctional Officer in Huntsville, TX and again as a Bus Driver for Metro/CTD in Rock Island.  Jimmy enjoyed camping, fishing, watching movies, talking to other veterans and lastly, his beloved Dallas Cowboys.  He will be deeply missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Survivors include his wife Debra, sons Andrew & Joshua Donald, step-son Matthew Miller, son-in-law Jason Poteet and brothers Bobby Donald (Texas) and Michael Lucas (Mississippi).

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.
