JoAnn Friend

JoAnn “Toe Jo” Friend, 84, of Colona passed away April 13, 2023 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Funeral services will be 10am Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Memorials may be made to the family.

JoAnn was born August 24, 1938 in Moline, IL the daughter of James and Nancy Elizabeth (Kellums) Hagerman. She married Larry Friend March 15, 1957 in East Moline. They later remarried on December 27, 1994 in Cambridge, IL. JoAnn worked at Servus Rubber and retired from IBP in 1997. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, riding her bike on the canal, and her animals. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Rickie Friend, Carla Friend, Judy (Grant) Foreman, Chuck (Pam) Friend, and Lynn (Mike) Bickle; stepdaughter Lucinda (Blair) Ridenour; grandchildren Melissa, Bobbi Jo, Michael, Misty, Nathan, Jaclyn, Cody, Dalton, Amy and Dustin; great grandchildren Seth, Gavin, Kash, Jasmine, Alex, Junior, Maddie, Hunter, Alec, Lilah, Kane, and Noah; great great grandchildren Navayah, Noah, Kash, and Emiliano.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James, brother Larry, sister Barbara DeMont, and her best friend Almeta.
