Joanne L. Nestle

Joanne L. Nestle, 94, of Silvis passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at Illini Restorative Care Center surrounded by family. 

Funeral services will be 3:00PM Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday at the mortuary. Private burial will be Monday at Roselawn Cemetery in Moline. A memorial fund will be established. 

Joanne was born November 2, 1930 in Burlington, IA the daughter of John and Mary Marshall Olsen. She graduated from UTHS class of 1948. Joanne married Melburn A. Nestle Jr. September 22, 1952 in Silvis, IL. He passed away July 28, 2003. She retired from Walgreens after several years. Joanne was a member of Silvis United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her children Jeffrey A. (Deborra) Nestle of Phoenix, AZ, Susan G. (Terry) Stern of Silvis, and Lisa A. (Jim) Frashier of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Mary E. Stern of Rock Island, Kyle J. (Faith) Frashier of Phoenix, AZ, Brett A. Frashier of Mesa, AZ, and Sean J. Frashier of Mesa, AZ; great grandchildren Daniel J. Frashier and Cameron J. Frashier. She is also survived by a sister Rita Bragg of Florida. 

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her beloved dog Trixie.
