Joyce P. Danley, 88, of Silvis passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at her home.
Funeral services will be 10am Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline. Visitation will be 4-6pm Monday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may be made to Youth Hope.
Joyce was born April 18, 1935 in Poweshiek County, Iowa the daughter of Omer and Emily Seibert Andeway. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1952 and attended Brush College and Black Hawk College. Joyce married Patrick J. Danley June 30, 1956 in Moline, IL. He passed away on September 28, 2010.
Joyce worked at John Deere for 29 years, retiring in 1983. She also worked for the family printing business Herald Printing in East Moline and owned a Victorian shop with her husband in Moline. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline where she was Rotary captain cook for 25 years and was a member of United Methodist Women. Joyce was also very active in Churches United and Youth Hope. She was a past secretary for East Moline Main Street and East Moline Business Association and was past president of Illini Auxiliary and East Moline Lioness Club. Joyce enjoyed cooking and baking, playing solitaire, attending car shows and Indy with her husband, and was an Avon rep for 25 years.
Survivors include her children Patti (Rick) Widdel and Jon Danley; grandchildren Jessica (Derek) Lodder, Lindsey Voorhies, Lori (Nate) Bader, Ian (Katie) Danley, Kaitlyn (Jesse) Morefield, and Emily Danley; greatgrandchildren Coleton Lodder, Isla Lodder, Ava Paulsen, Cale Bader, Ivy Bader, Sydney Danley, and Benjamin Danley; siblings Lee (Diane) Andeway, Jeri Norris, and Joan (Wayne) Mednick.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Janet.
