Joyce I. Kirkhove

Joyce I. Kirkhove, 89, of Silvis passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday with a rosary at 6:30 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Joyce was born July 27, 1935 in Rock Island, IL the daughter of James and Irene Cady. She married the love of her life, Phillip Kirkhove Jr. October 2, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island. He passed away January 15, 2018. 

Before starting a family, Joyce worked for Modern Woodman in Rock Island. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and School and as a befriender at local hospitals. She was also a member of the Carmelites. Joyce and her husband Phil loved camping, they camped together for over 50 years. 

Survivors include her children Sandy (Daniel) Lyons, Russ Kirkhove, Donna Landuit, Carol (Jorge) Ramos, Debbie Welzenbach, and Joyce Ann (Wade) Williams; 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Randy Kirkhove, daughter-in-law Debbie Kirkhove, sons-in-law Joe Landuit and John Welzenbach, and a sister Jeannette Sperling.
