Juanita Sausedo, 94, of Silvis passed away Nov. 3, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. Visitation will be 2-7pm with a rosary at 2pm Sunday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum in East Moline. Juanita was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Wathena, KS the daughter of Genaro and Maria Miranda Zaragoza. She married Tony Sausedo Feb. 20, 1943 in Wathena, KS. He passed away Feb. 8, 1996. Juanita and her late husband were the owners and founders of Tony's Grocery and Tony's Tortilla Co. both located on Hero St. in Silvis. Juanita loved attending church and was a member of the Alter Society and Legion of Mary Prayer Group at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. She also enjoyed card parties. Survivors include her daughters Sylvia Soliz of Moline, Mary Agnes Ochoa of Silvis, Sue Ann (Miguel Lara) Sausedo of East Moline; sons John (Joy) Sausedo of Hawaii, Paul (Valrie) Sausedo of Silvis; grandchildren Patrice (Scott) Noe Moore, Marlene (John) Wetherell, Zachary (Amy) Soliz, Zahra (Pete) Suss, Giovanni (Melissa) Saucedo, Gratianni Sausedo, Sasha Sausedo, Jacinda Sausedo, Jade Sausedo, Kiara (Kryn) Hoyer-Winfield, David (Jenny) Terronez, Estrella Simon and Frederick Sausedo; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a sister Eloise "Dolly" Sandoval of Silvis. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, son Fred, sisters Lucy Taylor and Mary Martinez; brothers Manuel, Ruben, Jessie and Joseph Zaragoza. The family would like to thank Hope Creek Care Center, Hospice Compasses and Dr. Short for all the care given to Juanita.
