Junior Foster

Junior R. Foster, 79, of Davenport, formerly of Colona, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Linda Cossaboon. Schroder Mortuary in Colona is assisting with the arrangements.

Junior was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Galt, Mo., the son of Terry and Della Rusk Foster. He was in the Air Force for 14 years, serving in the Korean conflict.He married Elizabeth R. Finch March 4, 1949, in East Moline. She passed away on Dec. 25, 2008.

Junior retired from John Deere as a machinist. He was a member of the VFW in East Moline. He played several instruments, all by ear. He played in bands in the area with Lakeside Tap being his favorite place to play.

Survivors include his children, Ray L. Foster, Davenport, Linda Cossaboon, Washington, Vickie Foster, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers Clyde Foster, Missouri, George Foster, Davenport; sisters LaVon Pickens, California, Lois Covey, Missouri, Sharlet Glass, Kansas

Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Della Elaine Sneed; parents, Terry and Della Foster; two brothers; and two sisters.
