Karen was born June 29, 1944, in Moline, the daughter of Robert G. and Agnes Emma Mitton Lewis. She married Willard "Willy" Willhouse on May 7, 1966, in Moline. For more than 40 years, she and her husband served the church by bringing children and youth to Sunday school through bus ministry ... hundreds of lives have been changed by this sacrifice.
Karen retired after working 16-plus years from the U.S. Postal Service. She loved her family vacations to the lakes in Minnesota, baking and reading. She also was dedicated in her prayer life, committed to serving the Lord and bus ministry.
Survivors include her husband of more than 50 years, Willard "Willy" Willhouse; children, Laurie Willhouse, Michael (Yana) Willhouse, Cathy (Rick) Stroh and Mary (Derrick) Szegda; grandchildren, Rachel and Ricky Stroh; brother, Terry Lewis; six nieces and two nephews, and was known as "mom" to many. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Apostolic Sanctuary bus ministry.
