Kathleen Burney

Kathleen I. Burney, 74, of Silvis passed away January 22, 2021 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus.

Visitation will be 4-7pm Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Silvis. In accordance with public gathering guidelines, social distancing will be observed. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Kathleen was born November 15, 1946 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Fred and Lillian White Mason. She married Carl Burney May 24, 2003 in Silvis, IL. Kathleen worked as an RN retiring after 35 years as a post-op nurse in the ICU at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and “junkin” to collect her nik-nak’s.

Survivors include her husband Carl; children Anthony “Tony” (Stacie) Gaskin, Terri (Jamie) Just, Sarina (Cecil) Clark, Janelle Pauwels, Jonathan (Andrea) Burney, and Gregory (Mallory) Burney; grandchildren Bailey Gaskin, Abigail Just, Jaidyn, Kailey, and Lilliana Clark, Micah, Cadence, Analaya, and Ayvlin Burney, and Paige, Tucker, and Elliot Burney; siblings Kenneth (Sandra) Mason, Dennis Mason, and Kim (Dewinn) Hume.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Darrell Mason.
