Kenneth Sheppard

Kenneth Sheppard Sr., 88, of Silvis, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. He was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Burnet County, Texas, son of Jesse and Virginia Hall Sheppard. He married Olivia Landa, on Nov. 19, 1947, in Fort Worth. She preceded him in death April 14, 1996. Ken worked for John Deere tractor works in Dubuque, Iowa, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing and making lures. Survivors include his sons, Kenneth (Roseanne) Sheppard Jr. and Richard (Patti) Sheppard; stepson, James (Marilyn) Redenbaugh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Allan Sheppard, James Sheppard, Yvonne Kelley and Jackie LaFrance.
