Leslie Peters

Leslie J. "Lucky" Peters, 74, Davenport, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Road Runners, 3803 Rockingham, Davenport. Burial will be later in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, is assisting the family with arrangements. He was born June 15, 1938, in Iowa City, to Ira and Pearl Maurath Peters. He married Jacquie Balzer on June 19, 1970, in Rock Island. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling and wrestling. Survivors include his wife, Jacquie Peters; children, Matthew, Kathy and Greg Peters, Mike Carraher, Cindy Montoya, Sid Cousins, Martha Pearl Woo, Sam Woo and David Krauser; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carlos (Joyce) Tucker, Hulda Sawvill, and Thomas Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Frank Meyer, brother, Frank B. Meyer, and sisters, Juanita Tucker Buck, Delores Fisher and Darlene Tucker.
