Linda Killian

Linda J. Killian, 67 of Silvis, passed away August 3, 2018 at OSF Medical Center, Peoria. Visitation is Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Private burial will be held at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. A potluck and celebration of her life will take place at 1:30, in the Colona American Legion Hall.  Memorial may be made to the Animal Humane Society.

Linda was born Febraury 16, 1951 in Davenport, daughter of Carl and Gloanna (Pruett) Killian.

She was a retired teacher, spending most of her career at Hillcrest School, East Moline. Before teaching, Linda worked crappy jobs with crappy hours to spoil her son.  She enjoyed being in her garden, caring for small needy dogs, artistic endeavors, colorful clothing, worrying about Michael, doting on babies, and the occasional bottle of beer.  Her capacity for kindness has been matched by few.  May the light she brought to the world live on in those who knew her.

Linda is survived by her son, Michael Killian Preiss, Brooklyn, NY, her mother, siblings, Joanna (Duane) Beale. Danny (Cyndi) Killian. Darlene Killian, Rob (Darcy) Killian, Carla (Bill) Gates, many nieces and nephews, and even more grand nieces and nephews.  She was preceded by her father and sister, Sherri Brooks.
