Lisa Schmidt

Lisa Anne Renner Schmidt, 59, of Colona, went home to be with Jesus Christ on Aug. 13, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at New Boston Cemetery. Schroder Mortuary in Colona is assisting the family with arrangements. Lisa was born Jan. 13, 1956, to Shirley Honeyman in Moline. She graduated from Moline Senior High School in 1974. Lisa graduated from Black Hawk College in 1979 with an associate degree in nursing. She worked as a professional registered nurse for 34 years. Her last position was working as an RN case manager for Coventry Healthcare Insurance, which later became AETNA in 2013. Lisa married LaVerne D. Schmidt on Oct. 25, 1991. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline. She was a devoted animal lover and especially loved dogs and horses. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother in 2004 and her stepfather, Richard V. Renner, in 2009. Survivors include her husband, LaVerne; sister, Lorie Smith, and niece, Ashley Smith, both of Moline; aunt, Marge O'Dell, Moline; and cousins, Dwight O'Dell, Del Rio, Texas, Tracy O'Dell and family, Eldridge, and Drew O'Dell, Moline.
