Lois Anderson, 93, of Moline, formerly of Grand Island, Fla., and East Moline, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the mortuary. Burial is at Hampton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Silvis United Methodist Church to assist Pastor Julio Alvarado with expenses for his son who was injured in Afghanistan.
She was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Port Byron, daughter of Hugh and Viola Allen Montgomery. She married Billy Anderson on June 15, 1941, in Moline. He passed away June 22, 1994.
She enjoyed oil and watercolor painting. She was a member of the Homemakers Extension of the University of Illinois.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Stephen) Schroder, Moline, Cathy (Jay) VanDeVoorde, Dublin, Goergia, and Cindy (Andrew) Hansen, Ottumwa, Iowa; son, Gary (Mary) Anderson, Hampton; grandchildren, Billie Sue Burklund, Lora Felger, Marc VanDeVoorde, Scott Schroder, Randie Anderson, Greg VanDeVoorde, Eric Hansen and Katie Hansen; six great-gandchildren; and sister, Marilouise Mercer, Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Billy
