Lois Miriam Long, 85, of Moline, and formerly of Hampton, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mortuary. Memorials may be made in Lois' name to the Disabled Veterans or the Children's Make A Wish Foundation. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Moline.
The former Lois Neal was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Ada Mae Cole Neal. She first married Clem Kinnamon Jr. in 1942, in Centerville, Iowa. She later married Lloyd Stoneburg in 1952. She was last married to Charles William Long on March 25, 1983, in Aledo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1993.
Lois worked as a dietician at the former Franciscan Hospital, until her retirement.
Lois was very artistic and enjoyed doing all crafts. She also loved reading, puzzles and mostly spending time with her family.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Valory Huys, Rockford, Ill., Judith Condrack, Rock Island, and Melody DeSchepper, Rock Island; son, Bruce Stoneburg, Moline; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrea (Justin), Kathy, Kari, Kasie, Kim, Darin and Barney; stepchildren, Cheryl, Charlene, Donovan, Dennis, Don, Dan and the late Chris; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; infant son, David; two brothers, Burl and Charles; and a sister, Frances.
