Loyd "Dean" Baldock, 74, of Silvis, passed away Nov. 6, 2017, at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Loyd was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Anthony, Kan., the son of Ora and Naomi McDonald Baldock. He married Linda Anderson on Nov. 27, 1968, in Rock Island. Dean was a member of Local 309 Laborers Union retiring in 1997. After retirement, he ran a lawn service in the Silvis area. He enjoyed fishing, going to stock car races, and going to the Maid-Rite for coffee and talking with the fellas. Dean especially enjoyed his puppies, Lucky and Peewee, and loved being a grandparent and an uncle.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; son, Christian, Silvis; granddaughter, Chelsea (Ben) Parsons, Long Grove; great-grandchildren, Brystal, Parker and Paxton; sister, Vanetta (Richard) Stanrich, Derby, Kan.; brother, Bobby (Colleen), Discovery Bay, Calif.; and sister, Judy Pierce, Wichita, Kan.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; son, Raemond; brother, Jim Baldock; and a sister, Maxine Baldock.
