LuEllen Brereton

LuEllen Brereton, 92, of Silvis, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with visitation two hours prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens). LuEllen was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Hillsboro, Iowa, daughter of George and May DeSpain Billingsley. She married Lester Brereton on June 10, 1939, in Davenport. He passed away Oct. 3, 1993. Survivors include her children, Henry (Bonnie) Brereton, Samuel (Janet) Brereton, Ellen (Allan Fiscus) Hobert, Alice Gingry, David (Barb) Brereton, Marilyn (Mark) Cook and Arleen Brereton; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lydia Carpio. LuEllen was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Roberta Coursey; two brothers; and one sister.
