Lula Mae Ruark, 92, of East Moline passed away Monday September 15, 2013 at her home in East Moline surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness 2767 9th Street Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Schroder Mortuary in Colona is assisting the family with arrangements. Lula was born February 28, 1921 in Youngstown, IL the daughter of Jerry and Eva Lyons Hammond. She married Gerald Fitch who passed away and later married Howard K. Ruark who also preceded her in death. Lula worked as a nurse at Moline Public Hospital for several years. She also lived in Preston, Idaho where she worked at Presto Products and loved the Mountainous view. Lula was a Jehovah Witness for 50 years. She devoted her life to her church and her family, always worried about everyone else. She enjoyed making homemade bread and cinnamon rolls, working puzzles and playing "Hand in Foot" She was also sold and collected AVON. Survivors include her sons Leo (Pam) Fitch, Ronald (Marilyn) Fitch, David (Brandie) Ruark, Mark Ruark, Michael (Kathy) Ruark; daughters Jane Stoneking, Geraldine (Ron) Riddell, Carol (Curt) Swanson and Cynthia (Randy) Hornback; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister Anna Williamson. Lula was preceded in death by her husbands, children Lannie, Gary, Terry and Larry Fitch a grandson Cody Fitch and 7 brothers and sisters.
