Marilyn Heston, 96, of Coal Valley, passed away Dec. 1, 2017, at the home of her granddaughter, Sally Lynn Horton in Osco.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Marilyn was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Kewanee, the daughter of Harry and Ethel Allison Atkins Lingenfelter. She married Chester C. Heston May 6, 1946 in Galesburg. He passed away Aug. 9, 1996.
Marilyn farmed with her husband for 51 years. She continued living on the farm after his passing. Marilyn also worked in the cost and accounting department for Kraft Foods in Milan, retiring in 1978. She loved spending time with family, playing cards, traveling and playing bingo, family gatherings and crocheting.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Hargrave Lamb of Colona; sons, Robert Hargrave of Enon, Ohio, Gary Hargrave of Harrison, Ark., and Larry Heston of Colona; 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Bud and Junior Atkins and sisters, Lucille Hicks and Toots McGregor.
