Marjorie Skiles

Marjorie Skiles, 84, of Canton, Ill., formerly of Silvis Heights, passed away May 10, 2014, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Marjorie was born June 29, 1929, in Marblehead, Ill., daughter of Leslie and Cecile Williams Walton. She married Jesse B. Skiles on April 19, 1952, in Moline. He passed away Jan. 25, 2009. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (Walt) Thomas and Teresa (Jeff) Reha; sons, Russell (Zoe) Jennings, Jerry (Linda) Skiles and Corby (Sandra) Skiles; grandchildren David, Angela, Michael, Richard, Stephanie, Jessica, Amanda, Raychel, Corrie, Nathan, Amber, Jacob, Jadyn, Ken, Fred, Ronny, Robby and Vicky; 23 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, David Walton. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, four brothers and two infant great-grandchildren.
