Mark A. Copeland

Mark A. Copeland, 66, of Silvis passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his home. 

Funeral services will be 12:00pm Monday, January 13, 2025 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 2 hours prior to service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Mark was born October 29, 1958 in Moline, IL the son of Robert and Lydia “Lee” Fato Copeland. He Graduated from UTHS in 1976 and received an associate’s degree in Drafting from Black Hawk College. Mark married Sherrie Boom November 11, 2000 in East Moline, IL. She passed away September 7, 2020. Mark worked as a senior designer for 32 years at Sears Seating. He was a long-time member and Vice President of Quad City Cruisers Car Club. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, accomplishing an 856 series on October 16, 2000. He also enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and watching the Mallards and QC Storm Hockey teams. 

Survivors include his mother Lee Copeland; brother Bob (Monica) Copeland of Woodridge, IL; sister Lori (Jeff) Wessels of Silvis; nephews Steve (Deanna) Lerschen, Greg (Katie) Wessels, Evan (Helen) Copeland; niece Paige (Robbie) Copeland Samuel; a great niece and several great nephews; aunts Clara Copeland and Ruth Copeland; mother in law Helen Ross; brothers and sisters in law Mark (Laurie) Vanderboom, Tony (Ruth) Boom, Julie (Michael) Gray, Sandra (Mark) Rice, and Todd (Ann) Ross. 

Mark was preceded in death by his father and his wife Sherrie.
