Martin Foster

Martin Foster, 74, of Coal Valley, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. He was born June 19, 1938, in Rock Island, son of Perry and Isabell Robinson Foster. Isabell passed away in 1942 and Martin was raised by Elizabeth Foster. She passed away in 2009. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Martin retired from Standard Forwarding. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping and golfing. Survivors (and spouses) include his children, Carolyn (James) Davis, East Moline, and Jennifer (James) Cartwright, East Moline; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; girlfriend, Donna Carter; and his horse, Baby.
