Marvin A. DeMay, 77, of Moline, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Rosewood Nursing Home, Moline.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Annawan, to August and Sylvia Billiet DeMay. He married Jean Thurwanger April 11, 1964, in Kewanee. She passed away Sept. 17, 2008.
He was a mechanic at John Deere Harvester retiring in 1995, after 37 3/4 years.
He served in the Army and was a member of the East Moline American Legion.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Moline. He enjoyed stock car races, tractor pulls and antique tractors.
Survivors include his children, Krisandra Gavin, Wyoming, Ill., Kathryn (Dan) Andris, Arizona, Michael DeMay, East Moline; grandchildren, Tara (Daren) Pauls, Arizona, Jared (Martiann) Gavin, Cary, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Maximus and Miai Pauls, Arizona, Payton and Braden Gavin, Cary; brothers, Henry (Marion) DeMay, Moline, August (Eleanor) DeMay, Orion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers.
