Marvin J. Sunken, 65, of Colona, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. A memorial fund will be established. He was born Aug. 9, 1948, in Rochelle, Ill., to Sunkie and Anna Meirath Sunken. He married Marian Pitts in July 1969 in Carbon Cliff. He later married Carol Christian in June 1991 in Geneseo. Marvin worked for the Rock Island Lines, Valspar Paint and John Deere Davenport Works as a security guard. He was an avid Cardinals fan and loved racing and country music. Survivors include his children, Mike (Becky) Sunken, Colona, Melinda (Scott) Symons, Port Byron; grandson, Mavick Sunken; a niece and four nephews; and siblings, Carletta Dykes, Davenport, Ray (Sandy) Sunken, Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
