Mary L. Anderson

Mary L. Anderson, 79, of Hampton passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. 

A memorial visitation will be 5-7pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with a celebration of life at 7pm. Burial will be at a later date in Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. 

Mary was born June 12, 1944 in Moline, IL the daughter of Ronald Sr. and Evelyn (Smith) Baum and was raised by her grandmother Ida Boyer. She married Gary Anderson February 27, 1965 in Moline, IL. Mary was a member of the Quilters Guild and the Red Hat Society.  She was a master crafter and had 2 crafting books published. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, feeding the birds, country western dancing, and was an avid sports fan. Her favorite teams were the Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, and Mallards. Mary especially loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her husband Gary; daughters Billie Sue (Brad) Burklund of Hampton and Randie (Jeff) Anderson of Silvis; grandchildren Brennen Burklund of East Moline, Baylee Burklund of Hampton, and Adam “Addy” Anderson of Silvis; 4 grand dogs; brother Tommy McLaughlin and a sister Dianna Plaza. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Ida Boyer, infant daughter Jill Marie, and her other siblings.
