Mary Anne Buchanan, 77, of Colona, went home to be with her heavenly father and her beloved husband Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Lewy Body (Dementia) Association.
Mary Anne was born July 7, 1933, in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of LeRoy and Anna Thrien Schatz. She married Miles Buchanan Jan. 5, 1952, in Moline. He passed away Nov. 5, 2009.
Mary Anne enjoyed gardening, but her greatest accomplishment was her family. She lived through her family, supporting them in every way. She was the perfect daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Mary Anne was a member of Baptist Temple, where she also taught Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Ann (David) Hantz, Moline, Marcia Ann (Thomas) O'Connor, Bettendorf, Christine Lynn Buchanan, Colona, and Amy Sue (Allen) Masengarb, Silvis; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Corbin, Terre Haute, Ind., and Jeannette (Elmer) Holbert, Terre Haute, Ind.; and the many others whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles; brothers, George and Leonard; and sisters, Judy Stevens, Margie Boyd and Edna Alumbaugh.
