Mary Jane Buckley, 87, of Milan, formerly of Carbon Cliff, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colona. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, with a rosary at 4 p.m., at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Association.
Mary was born Oct. 9, 1928, in East Moline, the daughter of Frank and Alice Peers Veys. She married Jacob Buckley May 7, 1949, in East Moline. He passed away March 11, 2003.
Mary loved her family very much. She loved all animals and especially her dog, Bo. She also enjoyed playing scrabble.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Mark) Dowdal, Colona, and Donna (Tom) Hershberger, Milan; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob; daughter, Theresa; son, Patrick; sisters, Madge Kannenberg and Ann Knobloch.
