Mary Louise Landuit, 85, of Orion, Ill., passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011, peacefully at the home she shared with her son and daughter-in-law. She is now in the arms of the Lord. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Schroder's Mortuary, Silvis, Ill. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, East Moline. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Henry "Hank" Landuit. Memorials may be made to a charity of the grantor's choice. Mary was born February 20, 1926, in Moline, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Hendricks) Willaert. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and United Township High School. She was united in marriage to Jesse Parry on March 19, 1943. From this union, two children were born. He passed away on September 6, 1949. She later married Henry "Hank" Landuit, a high school classmate, on August 4, 1951, in East Moline. Three children were born of this union. He passed away on June 8, 1986, after celebrating 34 years of marriage. She was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of East Moline for many years, and it was there she and Hank were united in marriage. She later joined the congregation of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church when she moved with her family to Coal Valley, Ill., in 1965. She moved to Orion in 2003 to live with her son and daughter-in-law because of ill health, and there she joined Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mary worked for over 30 years at Frank's Pizza, Silvis, first as a waitress and then on the weekends as a front kitchen cashier. Before that she worked at the Ship's Wheel Restaurant, Campbell's Island, East Moline. She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II and also at John Deere where she met her first husband, Jesse. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and loved to spend time with all of them, here in the Quad-Cities as well as in Florida and Michigan. She was an avid reader and traveled all over the nation to annual Naval Seabee Reunions with her husband, Hank, and later with her daughter, Janice. She loved to play bingo and played whenever she could. Those left to love, remember and mourn her are her children, David Parry, Maine; Janice and Steven Hood, Sherrard, Ill.; Lois and Ken Grage, Silvis; Joseph and Donna Landuit, Orion, (with whom she resided); and Stanley and Kimberly Landuit, Lakeland, Fla.; her grandchildren, David and Kimberly Parry, Plano, Ill.; Steven and Julian Hood, Sherrard; Douglas Hood, Bloomingdale, Mich.; Jennifer and Doug Gapinski, Moline; Christina and Mitchell (Buddy) George, Moline; Amanda, Ryan Landuit, Orion; Rachel, Emily Landuit, Lakeland, Fla.; Josh Grage, serving in the U.S. Army, Dawud Parry, Maine; and step-grandchildren, Keith Grage, Bobby and Michelle Grage. She had 15 geat-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous cousins and a very dear friend, Helen Sierra. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sherley Willaert, both husbands and numerous friends.
