Mary J. Lewis, 91, of Colona passed away Sunday - November 13, 2011 at Aspen Health and Rehab in Silvis.
A mass of christian burial will be 10 AM Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colona. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona with a rosary at 7pm. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
Mary was born February 2, 1920 in Lee County, IA the daughter of John and Elizabeth Schrader Wenke. She married Sherley L. Lewis June 21, 1941 in Ft. Madison, IA. He passed away Aug. 17, 1975.
Survivors include her sons Wayne (Sherry) Lewis of Colona and Darrel (Monica) Lewis of Orion; daughters Deanna DePorter of Colona and Darleen Hollender of Chicago; grandchildren Jeff, Janelle, Laura, Eric, Julie, Mary, Melodie, Sharon, Jeanene, Kerrie, Jodi, Patrick, Rebecca and Matthew; 24 great grandchildren; brothers Herman Wenke of Ft. Madison, IA and Bill Wenke of Bonapart, IA; sister Elizabeth OConnor of Hamilton, IL. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a great granddaughter, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and a son in law Gregory DePorter.
