Mildred 'Mili' D. Cooksey, 83, of Silvis, left this world to be with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with visitation 10 a.m. to services. Mili was loved by everyone she met. Mili grew up on a farm in Bonham, Texas. Mili was married to Leo V. Cooksey 1952-1977. Mili worked for USAF, John Deere, IBM for 35 years, North American Van Lines, and Home Instead, Davenport. Mili was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, drawing and painting. She taught Sunday school passionately at the Whole Truth Tabernacle and Jesus Church for 15 years. Her family includes her parents, Hugh and Flo McCain, Bonham; brothers, Hugh and George McCain; sisters, Flo and Rose McCain; son, Charles D. Cooksey and wife, Mary, Moline; stepdaughter, Sarah Thomas, Silvis, Sandra Costello, Davenport; stepgrandsons, Jacob Thomas, Silvis, Brady Costello and Landon Costello, both of Davenport; and "grandson," Stephen VanDusseldorp.
