Minnie Johnson

Minnie M. Johnson, 97, of Silvis, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. A graveside service will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline.

Minnie was born July 21, 1914, in Moline, the daughter of Edmond and Maria Deserus Schoonbaert. She married William Johnson Sr. on Aug. 6, 1936, in East Moline. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1991.

Minnie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Silvis. She loved to bowl and sew. She did house work in the Quad-Cities for 10 years before retiring.

Survivors include her son, William (Rebecca) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Shirley Johnson; grandsons, Jan Michael and Anthony L. Johnson. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Anna Marie; son, Jerry; a brother; and two sisters
