Norman "Bud" Miller

Norman “Bud” C. Miller, 74, of Colona passed away July 31, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus.

A memorial visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Schroder Mortuary in Colona.

Bud was born September 4, 1948 the son of Jack C. and Nora J. (Crawford) Miller. He married Janice Pisman October 1, 1966 in Colona. Bud was the owner of Bud’s Body Shop since 1968 and BJ’s Gas and Liquor since 1999. Bud was a great support to his community. He supported Colona Little League and was a coach for both baseball and softball. He also supported Colona Grade School, local car shows, dirt track racing and even bought tickets for carnival rides to hand out to local children. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially in the pool.  

Survivors include his wife Jan; son Dan (Samantha) Miller; daughter Janna (Todd) Miller-DeDecker; grandchildren Ashley (Daniel) Staggs, Amber (Kyle) Joseph, Andrew Hartvigsen, Devin Miller, Kendra (Andrew Bowerson) Miller, Austin Miller, Tyler Miller, Danielle DeDecker, and Erica DeDecker; great grandchildren Tristyn Whipple, Wyatt Staggs, Bentley Whipple, Gunnar Staggs, Levi McCallum, Knox Miller, Dexter Bowerson, and Kaisley Miller and his sisters Sue Kelley and Jackie Streator; sister in law Lynda Smith and a lifelong best friend Dan (Sandy) Lenth.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Chuck Miller and Jay Miller, and a sister Karen Murrison.
