Ola Angel, 83, of Rock Island, passed away at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Trinity Rock Island.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, and service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, both held at Second Baptist Church in Rock Island.
Ola was born Jan. 5, 1929, in Shelby, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Cleora Cozart Johnson; husband, John Angel Jr.; daughters, Doris Joann, Peggy and Rosemary Angel; son, Baby Angel; grandson, Oran Turner; and brothers, Ranser and Oscar Johnson.
Survivors include her children, Marion Roberts, Georgia, Catherine (Darrell) Turner, Bellwood, Ill., Kay (Lynn) Brooks, Moline, John Angel III, Rock Island, Phyllis (Mitch) Maynard, Milan, Debbra (Curtis) Ballard, Alan Angel, Sandra Angel, all of Georgia, Sheila (Rev. Jarrod) Angel-Parker and Lori (Baruch) Angel-Young, both of Rock Island; 38 grandchildren; 110 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Katie (James) Doll and Wilber Jean (John) Rambus, brother, Delber Tibbs, all of Chicago; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ola is also survived by Anthony Angel, Carbon Cliff, Kimberly Angel, Georgia, and Fatonia (Russell) Green-Baker, Rock Island, who were raised by Ola (Mama)
