Ozra “Red” Bohannon, 85, of Silvis, died Monday, July 8, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be 12 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis with 1 hour visitation prior to service. Memorials may be made to the family.
Ozra was born August 4, 1938, in Rock Island, Il. to Ozra K. and Florence Ferguson Bohannon. He married Catherine “Mick” Yakes November 4, 1978, in Carbon Cliff. She passed away on October 7, 2007.
Ozra worked as a Journeyman Electrician for the Railroad and served in the United States Army. He was a Tae Kwon Do instructor with a 3rd degree black belt. He loved his family and spending time with them.
Survivors include his daughters, Cathi (Tom) Stoddard Watson, Patty Cant, Diana (Dave) Fuller, Betty Whitman, Kimie (Paul) Barger; sons, Paul (Georgia) Bohannon, Joe Cramlett, and David (Angie) Bohannon. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren. Special friend Wanda.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, son Donnie Stoddard; son in law, Norman Merrill and Blair Whitman, grandson, Phillip Merrill, two great grandchildren, and three brothers.
